Focus On: Studio Roof

This time in our Focus On: series, we are going to be looking at the brilliant Dutch brand Studio Roof. One of our biggest collections of wall decor comes from the fantastic minds of the team at Studio Roof. Loved by kids and adults, this family-owned business designs beautiful self assembly 3D models and wall hangings inspired by nature and animals.


Studio Roof started life in the Netherlands in 2005, founded by parents Romy Boesveldt and Ilya Yashkin. They are quoted to say “imagination and playfulness are not only connected to childhood, but are a key element that pervades every aspect of life, at all ages” and this is very true for their products - their designs are made for the enjoyment of all ages, from taking the time to pop out & build the 3D model, to loving how they look in your home.

Studio Roof is a design studio based in Amsterdam, creating colourful cardboard wall decor.

Are Studio Roof products Eco-friendly?

The theme of nature runs through their business, from their products to their manufacturing, and reducing their ecological footprint is important to them.
All of Studio Roof's 3D Models are made from recycled cardboard and coloured with plant based vegetable inks. Once they come to the end of their life, they can be recycled.

For every design Studio Roof makes, a tree is planted through the Trees For All foundation, and although sometimes air travel can’t be avoided, the company plant extra trees to offset the carbon emissions used in their travel.

Where are Studio Roof products made?

Studio Roof products are designed in Amsterdam and manufactured in China. Studio Roof have high standards when it comes to who manufactures their products; the printing company that manufactures their cardboard products has a FSC management quality certificate, environmental quality certificate, soyseal certification mark & icti ethical toy certificate.

One of our favourite products from Studio Roof has to be the Wall Of Curiosities - Fish Hobbyist. The set contains 6 fish & 10 sea plants for you to decorate your room how you desire (we love them when made into a themed feature wall!)

Studio Roof Birds:


We stock so many beautiful bird themed items from Studio Roof, but our absolute favourite has to be the Studio Roof Mobile - Garden Birds. As with all Studio Roof 3D models, the mobile comes flat packed ready to assemble into the most stunning delicate cardboard hanging.

Studio Roof Butterflies:


Butterflies & beetles seem to be the iconic Studio Roof designs, and we absolutely love the pack of 3 butterflies; group them together on a feature wall or split them up & scatter around the house!

Studio Roof Beetles:


We have so many colourful Studio Roof beetles in the store but for us, we love the Giant beetles!! The Deluxe Giant Rhinoceros Beetle is a real show stopper and will bring a brilliant pop of colour to any room!

The thing we love about these Studio Roof greetings cards is that they are flat enough to post as a standard card, but hold so much fun for the recipient.
